I call this image Light Dog it is in reference to the term Sun Dog which refers to a large family of Halos created by light interacting with ice crystals in the atmosphere. This photo shows a rainbow in the clouds called Iridescent Clouds these are caused by tiny drops of water or ice crystals in the clouds while the larger ones produce the Sun or Moon Halos. So much for the scientific explanations whenever I see these my spirits are lifted I really love seeing Rainbows in clouds and waterfalls watch for more images as I am in the process of sorting through my more than 50 years of photographic imagery.
